FAQ

Fortifications

  • What are Fortifications for?
There are two kinds of Fortifications - passive and active.

Passive Fortifications include Walls, Gates, and Decor. All of these additions contribute to your City's total defense bonus, granting all your defensive units additional combat effectiveness when fighting off attackers. This bonus will only be applied to defensive units currently garrisoned in your City and outside of your Acropolis.

Active defenses include Towers only. Unlike Walls, Towers will actively participate in defensive battles just like one of your regular Units - unlike normal Units, when they're damaged they can be repaired and brought back online for free by you or by Friends as many times as needed, granting a considerable long-term advantage. Active defenses also contribute to your overall Defense Bonus. Fortifications cannot be deployed to locations outside your City. You can build up to 20 Towers in total.
  • Why do I need Decor?
All Decor help increase your City's Defense Bonus. The more of these additions you have in your City, the higher your Units' Defensive rating. Only Units actively defending your City (not in the Acropolis) will receive the Defense Bonus.
  • Sapper
Sappers are assistants capable of automatically repairing all defensive Towers and the Temple of Hermes in your City.

Sappers are activated automatically upon signing into the game, do not consume Resources, and cannot be damaged or destroyed.

Each Sapper you hire increases the rate of repair for the Temple of Hermes, and all defensive emplacements in your City by 5%. You may hire a maximum of 5 Sappers.

    To hire a Sapper:

    1. Go to your City.
    2. Click "Construction".
    3. Open the "Decor" tab and select the Sapper.
    4. Select an area within your City and begin construction.
  • Gate
Each Gate you build helps increase your Castle Defense Bonus. More importantly, they serve as the mounting platform for defensive emplacements, such as Catapults and Ballistae. These improve your Units' ability to repel enemy attacks.

You can build 4 Gates in total, and they can only be installed along the grey line surrounding your Castle. Discover the Lost Art of Fortifications (Levels 1,2,3, and 4) to gain access to more advanced Gates.

  • Ballista
Ballistae increase your Castle Defense Bonus. Ballistae can be installed only on Towers and Gates. Their number is limited by the number of mounting platforms available. Discover the Lost Art of Fortifications (Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4) to gain access to more advanced Ballistae.

  • Sentry
Sentries increase your Castle's Intelligence Bonus. They help increase the ability of your Silent Ones to detect and destroy Enemy Silent Ones trying to spy on your Castle. They can be posted only on Towers and Gates, and their number is limited by the number of available platforms. Discover the Lost Art of Fortifications (Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4) to gain access to more advanced Sentries.

  • Perimeter and Castle Improvements
