FAQ

Positions

  • Positions. Overview
Positions are special locations that require your military intervention. Successfully clearing them of Xerxes' forces allows you to:
    - Earn Tournament Points during certain Global Tournaments
    - Liberate new Units above your current Agreement level
-Recover additional Resources< br>-Earn Experience Points

Be advised - while many Positions may offer valuable prizes (Resource caches or unaffiliated new Units) – some will offer nothing but high casualties and the opportunity to earn Experience Points. Evaluate your goals and current strength carefully before engaging, and do not waste Units you cannot afford to lose. While not every successful mission will offer a reward, each Position you conquer without receiving a reward counts towards your eventual payout. Each skipped payout increases your odds of receiving a bonus on your next attempt – so keep trying!

Every Position has its own Level, indicating the approximate size and strength of the enemy force. You may engage the same Location as many times as needed in order to destroy all enemy Units stationed there.

All Positions can be viewed from your Oracle on the "Positions" tab.

The Oracle gives you information about:
    - New Positions apppearing around your City;
    - The Level and Current Strength of all detected Positions.

Send Units to a Position from the "Positions" tab in your Oracle interface, or use the menu on the Game Map.
  • Enemy Strength Indicators
Every Battleground has two strength indicators – its Level and its Current Strength. The Level indicates the approximate size of the force awaiting you on the Battlefield. Current Strength represents the percentage of enemy Units remaining on the Battleground.

You may attack or defend the same Battleground as many times as needed to destroy all its occupying or attacking enemy Units. Battlegrounds are dangerous places with few hiding place, shrouded in the carnage of battle - your Silent Ones cannot venture there.
  • Eagle's Nest
You must build the Eagle's Nest in order to locate Towns, but it may also be used to more easily detect and manage the Battlegrounds around your Castle.

The Eagle's Nest gives you information about:
    - New Battlegrounds appearing around your Castle
    - The Level and Current Strength of Battlegrounds.

All detected Battlegrounds can be found in the Eagle's Nest on the "Battlegrounds" tab. Upgrading the Eagle's Nest has no effect on the number of detected Battlegrounds, but will allow you to detect more Towns on the Map.
  • Battleground Interactions
Place your cursor over a Battleground on the Map to see its strength indicators and available actions. You can view Battleground's Level and Current Strength, dispatch a force to attack or defend it, or return to the "Battlegrounds" tab at your Eagle's Nest interface from this menu.

From within your Castle, go to your Eagle's Nest and open the "Battlegrounds" tab to view all available Battlegrounds. Upgrading the Eagle's Nest has no effect on the number of Battlefields you may detect, but will allow you to locate more Towns on the Map.

There are two types of Battlegrounds – Offensive and Defensive.
Send Offensive Units to destroy Orcish forces foolish enough to take up positions near your Castle (Offensive Battlegrounds – highlighted red in your Eagle's nest and on the Map).

Send Defensive Units to evacuate unarmed villagers and subjects from the attacking Orcish Horde, and leave nothing but ashes behind you (Defensive Battlegrounds – highlighted green in your Eagle's Nest and on the Map).
